12月13日，居住在15個(gè)國(guó)家的伊拉克籍海外人士開始參加伊拉克新議會(huì)選舉的第一天投票。散居在世界各地的伊拉克海外人士投票率很高。在伊朗首都德黑蘭南部，可以看到數(shù)百名伊拉克人排成長(zhǎng)隊(duì)參加投票。

說“投票”，我們常常用vote來表示。報(bào)道中的cast a ballot也許才是真正的“投票”，因?yàn)閏ast是“投”的意思，ballot表示“選票”，用cast a ballot來表示“投票”似乎更生動(dòng)、更形象一些，此外，也可用cast a vote來表示。
比如，I never fail to cast my ballot.（每次投票選舉，我都會(huì)參加。）
這樣，“投票”就有了三種說法，它們就是vote, cast a ballot, cast a vote。
