先說“in the wind”吧。這個詞組表示的意思是形容某事即將發(fā)生，也許跟漢語里的“風(fēng)聲”有點相似。
例如：Changes in top management of the company have been in the wind for weeks.
幾周來人們一直在傳說，公司上層即將進(jìn)行改組。
又如：They sensed that there was something in the wind.他們察覺到要有事發(fā)生了。
而in the air 表示“在流傳中，流行的”，和in the wind不同，它所描述的事情一般來說是會發(fā)生的，在人們腦海中縈繞，而不僅僅是傳聞而已。
如：The war filled people’s thoughts every day; it was in the air.人們只是一門心思地想著即將爆發(fā)的戰(zhàn)爭。
In the air 還可表示某事懸而未決，不確定。如：Our plans are still in the air. 我們的計劃仍懸而未決。
