CPPCC annual session opens in Beijing

Chinese economist Li Yifu is mobbed by
journalists as he arrives for the opening ceremony of the Chinese Peoples'
Political Consultative Conference in Beijing's Great Hall of the People
Friday March 3, 2006. The conference is an advisory body to China's
parliament, which opens its annual session Sunday. Communist leaders are
expected to use the two sessions to unveil new programs to help
