Inter, AC Milan move closer to Serie A leader Juventus

at San Siro.
Also Sunday, Livorno won 2-0 at Palermo to hold fifth place; Chievo Verona
beat Udinese 2-0; an injury-time goal helped Parma to a 2-2 draw at Siena; and
Cagliari beat visiting Ascoli 2-1 to lift itself to next-to-last place.
Later, AS Roma was at Sampdoria.
Livorno and Chievo Verona continued to surprise this season, staying ahead of
Lazio, AS Roma and Palermo in the standings.
Livorno midfielder Jean Marc Pfertzel opened the scoring on an assist from
veteran striker Cristiano Lucarelli, who also hit the crossbar with a
spectacular curling shot from long distance.
Livorno's ninth win of the season puts it in fifth place with 31 points, two
behind Fiorentina.
Chievo, from a Verona suburb of only 8,000 residents, beat Udinese on a
first-half goal by Simone Tiribocchi and a second-half penalty by Nigerian
Victor Obinna.
Chievo, which gave Udinese its third straight loss, has 27 points.
Juve coach Capello slams Thuram after Lazio draw
ROME: Juventus coach Fabio Capello criticised defender Lilian Thuram for
gifting Lazio a head start in Saturday's 1-1 draw here which stalled his side's
push for the Serie A title.
Thuram was caught in possession and his error led to Tomasso Rocchi's early
goal, but the Frenchman's blushes were saved by his compatriot David Trezeguet
whose close range header salvaged a point for the reigning champions.
"It was an incredible goal we gave away, a gift," moaned Capello whose team's
lead at the top of the table could be cut to eight points on Sunday.
"Normally in that position a defender would boot the ball away. If we had
taken the lead instead of Lazio the game would have been completely different."
Lazio coach Delio Rossi was delighted with a draw which lifted his side to
eighth and maintained their unbeaten home record which stretches back to May 8
of last season.
"The lads played a great match, and to tell you the truth I was expecting us
to suffer more," he said.
"In fact, we could have won. It's a shame because Juve scored just as we were
starting to dominate."
