1st organ donation law under review

The country's first organ donation law may be enacted in Shenzhen, according
to Beijing-based Star Daily.
The Standing Committee of the Shenzhen Municipal People's Congress reviewed a
draft of the Shenzhen Special Economic Zone Human Organ Donation Regulation for
a third time yesterday.
The regulation forbids organ sales in any form and stipulates the punishments
medical institutions and practitioners would incur for dealing in such sales.
The draft also includes special provisions, such as giving a donor's family
members priority in receiving organs.
