Give Peace a Chance by English singer and songwriter John Lennon

Give Peace a Chance was released as a single in 1969 when Lennon was still a member of the Beatles. It is the first solo single by Lennon, and became an anthem of the American anti-war movement during the 1970s. It was written during the famous anti-war event "Bed-Ins for Peace" in Montreal, Canada. Lennon was a firm opponent to the Vietnam War, and when asked what he tried to achieve by staying in bed, he answered spontaneously "just give peace a chance". It later on became his slogan calling for peace.
