In 1958, the educational research group Golden Chamber at Hubei College of TCM was founded and professor Li was appointed as the group leader. He compiled Lectures of Golden Chamber independently. In 1963, as a deputy chief editor, he compiled Lectures of Golden Chamber Synopsis, the second edition of tryout teaching material for TCM Colleges, which introduced the subject, Golden Chamber, to the whole country. In 1974, Professor Li assisted with compiling Fundamentals of Chinese Medicine, the national teaching material of TCM colleges. In 1978, he was in charge of compiling Selected Readings of Nei Jing and engaged in compiling Nei Jing, a teaching reference book at TCM colleges and universities . In 1987, he compiled Interpretations of Golden Chamber Synopsis for Guang Ming Correspondence University of TCM, and this book was reissued under the title of Lectures of Golden Chamber Synopsis in 2008.

In 1981, Professor Li Jinyong proposed that "Concerning Knowledge, no generalization can be realized without its width, no profoundness can be achieved without its depth". He made it a requirement for teachers in his office that they should develop a habit of extensive reading and writing. A library was set up in the office and the teachers were asked to report on a regular basis how well they learned. In 1986, he instructed his teachers to compile the books of the Newly Revised Compendium of the Emperor's Internal Canon of Medicine and Index of the Emperor's Internal Canon of Medicine, which cultivated a number of highly qualified teachers of TCM.

In more than half a century's teaching career in TCM, Professor Li Jinyong has built up an educational concept which advocates teaching in accordance with the students’ needs and aptitude and sharing profound insights in the form of dialectical statements. His students were asked to establish a dialectical and historical materialistic perspective, and to study different works and theoretical frameworks in specific historical backgrounds. He also highly values teaching classical works and clinical practice, and hence compiled Introduction to Dialectical Method of TCM. In 1962, he supervised practitioners of Western medicine who studied TCM in a full-time advanced class to compose a paper titled "A Study of the Theoretical Framework of National Medicine from the Perspective of Zang-Fu Theory". The full text was published in Guangming Daily and posted in People's Daily and the Journal of Traditional Chinese Medicine, which brought about a far-reaching influence on the TCM community throughout the nation.
