Yang's tour

 

Mainland singer-songwriter Yang Kun will hold a nationwide tour to celebrate his 20-year career. The 41-year-old remained largely unknown for about 15 years until he shot to fame in 2002 following the release of his debut album, Whatever, which sold more than 400,000 copies. He is also one of the four judges for popular reality TV show The Voice of China.

Heshang

Gao Huijun is an artist with a deep understanding of traditional Chinese art. He is famous for his images of ancient Chinese subjects painted in acrylic on linen. The artist is presenting about 20 new paintings at an exhibition, including the debut showing of his ink color paintings on rice paper. Heshang believes understanding tradition doesn’t mean repeating it, but creating new work that will join it.

Taiwan singer

 

Pop singer Ding Dang, who was born in Zhejiang province, has become a success on the mainland after developing her career in Taiwan. She was offered a contract by Taiwan's Rock Records in 2003. She has since released five albums and a number of chart-topping songs.

Dark creatures take the stage

Magic Life is a new play about werewolves, vampires and zombies living in the concrete jungle of Shanghai. Written by Xie Di and Wang Bowen, the play will have 50 stagings at the Music Box, an outdoor theater in Shanghai Culture Square. The open theater is made of recycled materials, and actors will be performing on three of the stage areas, while audiences sit on swivel chairs in the middle.
