The government will continue to use the rule of law to regulate cyberspace and will open the sector wider to foreign investors, a senior official at China's Internet watchdog said on Wednesday.

The door to opening up will never be closed, said Lu Wei, director of the Cyberspace Administration of China.

"We have paid attention on how to govern cyberspace and how to open it up based on the law.
