China offers help
The Chinese government has recommended 10 experts to the Organization for Prohibition of Chemical Weapons to assist in the destruction of chemical weapons in Syria, a Foreign Ministry spokeswoman said on Tuesday.
Hua Chunying said the experts are ready to take part in the destruction in accordance with the organization's requirements.
Beijing supports the organization playing an active role in the destruction of Syrian chemical weapons and is willing to provide expert and financial support, she said.
China hopes the decisions and resolutions of the organization and the UN Security Council will be implemented effectively, Hua said, calling on all sides to create favorable conditions in this regard.
