As golden light touches both ancient steles and modern skylines, the 11th Nishan Forum on World Civilizations prepares to convene — where civilizations tune their instruments, where wisdom flows like the Yellow River meeting the sea, and where tomorrow's harmony is composed today, in Qufu, Shandong province.
This year marks the 80th anniversary of the victory in the Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression (1931-45) and the World Anti-Fascist War. The attack on Chinese forces by Japanese soldiers at the Lugou Bridge, also known as the Marco Polo Bridge, southwest of Beijing, on July 7, 1937, marked the beginning of the nationwide resistance against Japanese aggression.
The final deck segment of the Heishan Gorge Yellow River grand bridge in Zhongwei, Ningxia Hui autonomous region, was installed on Thursday, bringing the project a significant step closer to its goal of opening to traffic within the year.
