No need to panic over China's slowdown

Welcome to join us on the China Daily Forum for further discussions.

The economic growth rate certainly went down from double digit to a single digit. But I think that does not justify why the entire world should be concerned about that. Sustainable and slow economic growth is more important than a sharp decline in economic activity followed by a boom.

The two digit accelerated economic growth showed by China is appreciable considering its population, size and resources. And that's something another country with a similar resources could probably not be able to achieve. People, especially young people are very optimistic about their future although everyone does not end up with a descent job. But spending power of the common man is increasing.

Inflation is certainly a problem which is left upon its people to along with it or drop the madness about the major economic goods like real estate. I can see around that graduates find it difficult to get a job in the same field as their majors. Government spending is enough in all disciplines, that once again should ensure the stability and the confidence of its people.

The boom in the real estate may not remain the same. The situation may become stable but people selling off their houses - is the worst case scenario. Might be true for the senior citizens who are almost left without any major social benefits and government assistance.

Certainly it is not something that the Chinese people and the world should worry about, but a caution by the government should be taken in case the scenario gets worse - that I personally think is rare to happen. But the collapse of the entire economy as we saw during the recession is unlikely to happen.

Chinese economy will not collapse

The Chinese government has steered their megacarrier through choppy seas quite successfully.

China's role in G20

I saw a China that is much more confident to put itself forward at G20 summit.
