Detail revealed for Macao's UBPA case

A five-minute film will show readers' favorite 10 characters in Kung Fu novels by Louis Cha at Tak Seng On Pawnshop, Macao's UBPA case, said an official with the Macao Special Administrative Region Government on Feb 27.

Ieong Pou Yee, director of the office for Macao's participation in the World Expo 2010 Shanghai, said during Macao's Chinese New Year activity to welcome Expo 2010 that the 10 characters will be played by Macao's martial art team members.

The Macao Pavilion and the Tak Seng On Pawnshop, Macao's UBPA case, have started preparing exhibition and the Tak Seng On Pawnshop is the first to finish the outer wall construction among UBPA cases, she added.

The UBPA case will have five floors with about 500 square meters of floor space for exhibition.

The first floor will be a mock-up of ancient Macao pawnshop. A Macao's Kung Fu's exhibition area will also be arranged on the same floor.

The second floor will be a space related to Kung Fu novelist Louis Cha. A room blueprinted from Cha's study will be shown as well as two other areas enabling visitors to have a taste of the world in Cha's Kung Fu novels.

The third floor will showcase Macao's creative industry.

Louis Cha, known by his pen name Jin Yong, is famous for his popular martial arts genre works. His 14 novels and short fiction earned him the reputation as one of the finest martial arts writers. His works have been translated into English, Japanese, French, Vietnamese, Indonesian and Thai and adapted into films and TV series.

During Macao's Chinese New Year activity to welcome Expo 2010, a countdown clock was installed for Expo Shanghai, which will stay in use until the conclusion of the Expo 2010 by the end of October.

Besides, Expo mascot Haibao statues will appear in Macao's landmarks such as Golden Lotus Square, University of Macao and Macao International Airport.
