12th China-EU summit to be held in Nanjing

BEIJING: The 12th China-EU summit is to be held on November 30 in Nanjing, the capital of east China's Jiangsu province, according to an agreement reached by the two sides, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Qin Gang announced here on Monday.

Premier Wen Jiabao, European Commission President Barroso and Swedish Prime Minister Fredrik Reinfeldt, whose country currently holds the rotating EU presidency, will co-chair the summit.

Initiated in 1998, the summit is the highest-ranking dialogue platform between China and the EU. Premier Wen attended the 11th China-EU summit with European leaders in Prague in May.
