Man on trial for charring friend by accident

A man in Dalian, Liaoning province, was prosecuted for accidentally burning his friend to death while trying to set fire to a karaoke bar, which, they thought, had overcharged them.

One night last October, Lu and his friend visited a karaoke bar in the city where they were charged 400 yuan ($58) for drinks.

The two returned with gasoline and poured it all over the bar and on themselves threatening to set fire if their money was not returned.

The manager of the bar challenged them to do so if they had courage.

They did, only with the intent to threaten the manager, but in the process, Lu's friend was charred to death.
