Man jailed for cooking up bomb hoax at restaurant

A man in Chongqing municipality was last Thursday sentenced to seven months in jail for making a hoax bomb threat at a city restaurant.

The 24-year-old was a former employee at the restaurant who was fired from his job and wanted revenge.

On Jan 6 this year, he phoned the municipal security bureau saying there was a bomb in the restaurant.

More than 80 policemen arrived at the eatery with sniffer dogs, only to find it was a hoax call.

The caller was traced and arrested the same night.
