Girl sues ex-boyfriend after marriage plan fails

A woman sued her ex-boyfriend for 40,000 yuan ($5,840) in compensation after he failed to marry her.

Zhang Jing lived with Wang for three years and during those years, she had three abortions, and no children. She said the man used 20,000 yuan he borrowed from her to gamble.

He failed to keep his promise to marry her, she said in a court on Thursday, and she sued him for the money he borrowed.

The court ruled that the man did not need to repay all the money they spent together except that which he borrowed with an IOU.
