Four killed in bus accident in south China

ZHAOQING, Guangdong -- At least four people were killed and 13 injured after a passenger bus plunged from a highway in Guangdong Province Friday, the local police said.

The 49-seat bus, carrying 35 people, suddenly fell over from a section of a eight-meter-high expressway in Zhaoqing City.

Four were killed at the site and three suffered serious limb fractures. Ten others sustained minor injuries. All the injured are in stable condition.

An initial investigation blamed the accident on failure to control speed.

Police officers and officials with the local traffic and work safety authorities were inspecting the field investigation at the site.
