Injured start to arrive in Beijing

Jing Daihui, 23, was thrown out the window of a three-story court building in Beichun county during the earthquake. Thirty-one others died when the building eventually collapsed.
He is now in the Beijing Geriatric Hospital, accompanied by his mother, after a 33-hour train journey from Sichuan.
He was among 91 injured people and their families that arrived from Mianyang and Deyang yesterday.
One his arrival, Jing's first words were: "I can now sleep like a log."
The frequent aftershocks have given him nightmares.
"My son will receive better care in Beijing," Li Liping, the mother, said.
A majority of the victims are suffering from bone fractures and head injuries.
They all received operations in Mianyang and are in Beijing to recuperate.
Deng Xiaohong, deputy director of the Beijing Health Bureau said the geriatric hospital is equipped with the necessary facilities to aid the recovery process.
A special task force of 35 doctors and 60 nurses has been set up at the hospital.
In addition, 100 medical care workers will provide a one-on-one service for the injured.
"There are two to a ward," Zhang Jingping, a division director of the hospital, said.
The families of the injured will stay free of charge at a nearby hotel.
They will also be given free meal vouchers and telephone cards.
"They will be here for quite a while, so we want to give them a feeling of home," Yang Bing, a hospital spokesman said.
The families have heaped high praise on the doctors and nurses.
"Without the team from Beijing and other non-quake places, my son's quality of life might not have been so good," Li said.
She said the quake was the worst thing that could have happened to thousands of families in Sichuan.
"But it is also provided an opportunity for the people to show their love and care," Li said.
"I never realized there were so many people with kind hearts," she said.
