A number of companies in Dalian, Liaoning Province, have come up with a novel way to retain staff - matchmaking employees in the hope that couples will set up home in the city.

More than 80 single employees took part in a party organized by workers' unions of three companies and about 30 people said they found someone. Many participants said they found the event satisfying.
