Eva Mendes was completely confused by puberty.

The 'Bad Lieutenant: Port of Call New Orleans' actress - who is known for her curvy figure and is considered to be one the world's most beautiful stars - was completely baffled when her figure changed from a child's to a that of a grown woman when she was just 15.

She told The Times newspaper: "I had the body of a woman, but I was still a little girl. Nobody prepared me for it. And it was a very confusing, conflicting time."

Part of the reason why Eva hated her new body so much was because of the unwanted attention she started receiving from men.

She said: "I'd be out with my mother, and men would be looking at me and reacting to me differently, and I'd wonder why everything had changed and why nobody seemed to be talking about it."

Because of her confusion, the 36-year-old star - who has been dating Peruvian filmmaker George Augusto since 2002 - plans to be much more "open" if she has a daughter.

She added: "If I ever have a daughter, I'm going to be totally open about it."
