SAIC Motor Group's joint ventures made six out of ten best selling automobile models last year on Chinese mainland. SAIC GM Wuling's Hongguang, launched in 2010, was crowned again for a fourth consecutive year the best selling autmobile, according to China Association of Automobile Manufacturers' data released this month.
The popular compact MPV's upgraded model, Hongguang S, replaced its predecessor in August, and the sales volume was combined. The model proved its wide acceptance in tier-2 and tier-3 cities as a choice for carrying both passengers and cargos.
