As the automobile market in the Chinese mainland continues to grow, auto-parts suppliers and distributors based in Taiwan look to make substantial gains.

Tainan-based auto-parts maker Tong Yang Group expects a ten percent increase in the mainland market next year. Tong Yang, much like other Taiwan-based companies, sees the majority of its business from mainland automobile manufacturers. It has a strong partnership with GAC Group, and expects to be receiving orders from Fiat's Asian branch next year. Its new factory in Foshan, Guangdong, is expected to increase production at that time.

TungThih Electronic is another company that looks forward to increased orders from mainland automotive enterprises next year. It expects mainland demand to help boost its sales returns by 40 percent.

In order to foster increased cross-Straits cooperation in the fields of auto-part smanufacturing, as well as automotive technology and testing, the National Development and Reform Commission has held several meetings with economic management agencies in Taiwan.
