Hong Kong stocks close 0.39% higher

Hong Kong stocks gained 69.52 points, or percent to close at 17,790.59 on Thursday.

The benchmark Hang Seng Index plunged to the day low of 17,509.28 soon after a low opening. The loss was erased as the market launched an effective rally and ended the trading only slightly lower than the day high of 17,836.95.

Turnover was HK$62.26 billion ($8.03 billion), considerably expanded compared to Wednesday's HK$57.06 billion.
