Yidao, a company that provides car pick-up services in China, has tried to promote green travel by signing a strategic deal with FAW Toyota Motor Co Ltd on Sunday.

Yidao will use the environmentally friendly Prius, a two hybrid-powered vehicle provided by Toyota to pick up customers, according to the deal.

Among the 100 Prius vehicles purchased, 70 will be used for the pick-up services while the other 30 will be used for free trail driving for customers who want to try to drive this hybrid vehicle.

It is estimated that one Prius will carry 4,000 passengers in one year, said Zhou Hang, CEO of Yidao.

In the future, more Prius' will be used in Yidao's car-calling platform, he added.

The Prius vehicles only can be used in Shanghai, but it will be promoted in more Chinese cities, like Beijing and Hangzhou, according to the company.
