The all-new flagship model of Shanghai Volkswagen Skoda went on sale on Aug 12 in Guangzhou, priced between 167,600 yuan and 247,600 yuan.

The sedan offers seven models with several powertrain variants, including 1.4, 1.8 and 2.0 TSI engines coupled with a choice of DSG automatic manual transmission, Tiptronic six-speed automatic manual transmission and Tiptronic five-speed automatic manual transmission.

In addition, the New Superb GreenLine edition also hit the market, with 1.4 TSI engine and seven-speed DSG automatic manual transmission. It is also equipped with the Start-Stop system and braking energy recycling system, allowing for top driving performance while limiting energy consumption and emissions, according to the company. Shanghai Volkswagen Skoda's sales just broke through the 1-million-unit benchmark recently. The company hopes that the New Superb will enable it to further tap China's high-end auto segment.
