HONG KONG - Hong Kong stocks went up 394.48 points, or 1.68 percent to close at 23,852.17 on Thursday.
The benchmark Hang Seng Index opened 227.57 points higher and fluctuated before finishing the morning session 1.05 percent higher. The gauge launched an effective upward move in the afternoon and closed near the day high of 23,866.87.
Turnover expanded to HK$138.53 billion ($17.85 billion), from HK$109.24 billion of the previous session.
