Over 30,000 enthusiasts kick off roller skating carnival in Hebei

The 22nd Beidaihe Public Roller Skating Carnival officially opened on Friday, the first day of the five-day May Day holiday.
The four-day event, featuring street skating, national youth championships, freestyle elite competitions, and night shows, has attracted more than 30,000 enthusiasts to the coastal city of Qinhuangdao in North China's Hebei province.
At 9 am, a mass street skate set off from the city's Olympic Avenue Park. Nearly 10,000 skaters formed a long "dragon" along a 5.2-km coastal route, creating a spectacular scene.
Following the parade, competitive races over 10 km and 20 km also took place, drawing close to 1,000 racers.
