A strategic agreement was reached on Wednesday in Shanghai, making Henan-based instant noodle company Braisun Food the first strategic partner of China's next-generation cargo spacecraft Qingzhou.

The partnership was signed between Braisun Food and China's new-generation cargo spacecraft Qingzhou, or light vessel.

The Qingzhou cargo spacecraft test vehicle, also known as Braisun, is now conducting in-orbit scientific experiments. It was launched on March 30, marking a key achievement for China's manned space transportation system, according to public information.

"After accomplishing its mission delivery, the Qingzhou will continue to serve as an unmanned platform for scientific experiments," said Chang Liang, chief designer of the Qingzhou cargo spacecraft.

"The spacecraft is tasked with verifying key technologies, including future space hospital, in-orbit manufacturing, space rescue and services, and waste reuse to promote China's aerospace industry's further exploration of the space," said Chang.

Chang made the remarks at a news conference in Shanghai on Wednesday while giving an update on the first batch of scientific and engineering experimental results of China's newly launched Qingzhou cargo spacecraft test vehicle, which is developed by Shanghai-based Innovation Academy for Microsatellites of Chinese Academy of Sciences.

The cargo spacecraft is designed to feature low cost, high reliability, strong adaptability and high intelligence, according to a Xinhua News Agency report.

Weighing about 4.2 tons, the spacecraft is capable of operating in orbit for up to three years, the report added.
