Senior political advisor highlights role of proposals in advancing China's modernization
BEIJING -- A senior Chinese political advisor has urged greater efforts to leverage proposals from the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) in building China into a modern socialist country in all respects.
Shi Taifeng, a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and vice-chairperson of the CPPCC National Committee, made the remarks on Monday when presiding over a meeting on the handling of proposals submitted at the fourth session of the 14th National Committee of the CPPCC earlier this month.
Speaking highly of the proposals submitted at the annual session, Shi said that properly handling the proposals and achieving solid outcomes will help ensure a strong start to the 15th Five-Year Plan (2026-30).
It will also help demonstrate the distinctive strengths of socialist consultative democracy and reflect a clear commitment to establishing and practicing a correct view of governance performance, he added.
Efforts should be made to coordinate and handle proposals by category, maintain consultation throughout the entire process, and provide targeted and standardized responses, Shi noted.
