Shanghai airports increase cargo flights to US, Europe
Air China Cargo flight CA1165, carrying 104 metric tons of cargo, departed from Shanghai Pudong International Airport for Miami International Airport on March 16.
The Miami route, operated three times weekly by Boeing 777 freighters, serves as a crucial air bridge for Chinese goods heading to North America and onward to South America.
Shanghai’s airports have further expanded their intercontinental air cargo network this year, adding 12 weekly flights to the United States and Europe in March.
Since March 1, the Shanghai-Liege-Madrid route operated by Air China Cargo has expanded from two to six weekly flights, further strengthening cargo connectivity between China and Europe.
On March 4, Mediterranean Shipping Company Air Cargo launched a new Shanghai-Milan route, operating two weekly flights to transport e-commerce goods, electronics, and other high-value products.
These new flights are expected to facilitate exports from Shanghai and the Yangtze River Delta region, reinforcing the city’s role as a global aviation hub.
