PLA conducts live-fire training in areas north, southwest of Taiwan Island

NANJING - The Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA) Eastern Theater Command is conducting live-fire training in the waters and airspace to the north and southwest of the Taiwan Island on Monday, according to the theater command.
Destroyers, frigates, fighters, bombers and unmanned aerial vehicles are being employed in coordination with long-range rocket fires, it said.
The training focuses on subjects of hunting and neutralizing targets in waters and airspace, simulated strikes on ground targets, and live firing against targets in waters. The drills intend to test the troops' capabilities of integrated coordination and seizure of dominance, the theater command said.
