Qualcomm Inc has announced the launch of the "AI Acceleration Initiative" in China, a program designed to empower the local ecosystem to unlock new capabilities and applications for on-device AI and accelerate its widespread adoption.

The initiative was unveiled as the US chipmaker celebrates its 30th anniversary of operations in the country.

The program aims to deepen collaboration with Chinese industry partners across various sectors, fostering innovation and enabling AI to transform industries by leveraging its power.

Speaking at the anniversary event in Beijing earlier this week, Frank Meng, chairman of Qualcomm China, reflected on the three-decade-long partnership. "What has driven Qualcomm's journey with China is not only market opportunities, but also shared values and a common vision," Meng said.

"Partners in innovation, pathway to the future - this is a tribute to our thirty years of friendship and collaboration in China, and a reaffirmation of our confidence to advance together and create new chapters," Meng said.
