American musician: the Silk Road influenced American music

You probably don't think of fiddles when you think of the Silk Road. But Oklahoman Kyle Dillingham does. He traces ancient Central Asian bowed instruments' transmission along the Silk Road to Europe and eventually evolving into American fiddle song and dance. "Without the Silk Road, we might not have the traditional American fiddle culture we know today," he said at the 8th Silk Road (Dunhuang) International Cultural Expo, which kicked off on Sept 21 in Northwest China's Gansu province.
