'Treasure Island' song highlights PLA resolve
The Eastern Theater Command of the People's Liberation Army has released an original military song emphasizing its determination and fighting spirit, according to a post published on Saturday on its official WeChat account, People's Frontline.
Titled Plant the Flag of Victory on the Treasure Island, the song was made public as a stirring piece that blends strong melodies with the PLA's sense of mission. The article introducing the work said the song aims to "fuse the belief in building a strong military into powerful rhythms, shape courage through singing, inspire skills through vows, and gather strength for overcoming challenges".
The lyrics were written by Zeng Guang, with music composed by Yin Qianwen. The piece draws imagery from drills, amphibious and naval operations, and air combat, portraying service members as the vanguard of national unity and justice.
With repeated calls to "march forward" and vows to raise the flag of victory on the island, the song reflects the Eastern Theater Command's resolve to enhance its combat readiness and fulfill its mission.
