Shanghai's Baoshan district launched the upgraded "Cultural District" blueprint in 2025, releasing 58 brand projects and promoting 44 key cultural, tourism, commercial, sports, and exhibition events on Tuesday. The event also announced the establishment of a joint working mechanism for these sectors, marking a new step in integrated development.

By promoting cross-sector cooperation and resource integration, Baoshan aims to create an ecosystem where different industries thrive together. The initiative combines cultural charm, tourism vitality, commercial potential, and sports appeal to drive comprehensive development.

Highlighted projects include transforming small spaces into street art galleries to revitalize urban memories and upgrading public cultural venues. Unique IPs, such as the "Wusongkou Sky Theater" by the riverside and the "Travel with Sports Events" program, offer immersive experiences. Diverse activities like the Container Music Festival and the Farmers' Harvest Festival blend aesthetic education into daily life, enhancing the city's livability.

Baoshan also launched a series of events that integrate culture, tourism, commerce, and sports. For example, the Shanghai Cherry Blossom Festival and Shanghai Cruise Culture and Tourism Festival integrate major IPs to enhance brand synergy.

In recent years, Baoshan has attracted high-end international events like the F1H2O World Championship Grand Prix and international sailing races. Paired with cultural exchanges such as the Wusongkou Forum and the Long Beach Art Festival, these efforts have significantly increased the district's global visibility, attracting high-end consumption and shaping an open urban image.

Additionally, the newly established joint mechanism features three key components: joint meetings, resource sharing, and coordinated promotion, providing strong institutional support for cross-sector integration.
