"RCEP and FTAs need to support sustainable development," said Chaiwat Messanthan, director of the Institute of East Asian Studies, Thammasat University, at the 2025 RCEP Media & Think Tank Forum on May 25. Messanthan also stated that this support will help every country in the region become more prosperous and bridge gaps in development.
