Recently, the temperature in Quzhou, Zhejiang province, has significantly dropped due to the strong cold air and radiative cooling, with severe icing forecast in some mountainous areas. On January 6, employees of the State Grid Quzhou Power Supply Company came to Qili township in Kecheng district to inspect potential safety hazards on power lines that are prone to icing in the mountainous areas, so as to ensure the safety of power supply in the mountainous areas in winter.

In order to enhance the cold resistance ability of distribution lines in important electricity consumption areas, the company has joined hands with multiple departments such as Quzhou Emergency Management Bureau, Meteorological Bureau, Rural Agriculture Bureau and Fire Rescue Team. It has utilized multi-channel resources including the all-time intelligent monitoring system of the power grid and the diagnostic and analysis technologies of big data and artificial intelligence to jointly implement a new round of line inspection work. It has carried out comprehensive inspections on potential safety hazards for equipment such as switch stations, overhead lines, distribution transformers, meter boxes and household entrance lines of residents. In response to the identified potential hazards, it has conducted list-based management and control in accordance with the principle of "one hazard, one file and one person in charge". It has also communicated and coordinated with users in a timely manner to quickly and accurately solve the problems of potential hazards and ensure the healthy operation of power equipment.

Meanwhile, the State Grid Quzhou Power Supply Company has also continuously deepened the special safety publicity activities such as bringing power safety knowledge to rural areas and communities. On Jan 7, in Xiakou town, Jiangshan city, the power department organized an activity to publicize safe electricity use in winter and went door to door in the village. It distributed service manuals on safe electricity use, promoted the localized telephone service, patiently answered various electricity-related questions raised by users, promoted the popularization of knowledge about safe and economical electricity use in winter, prevented safety accidents such as fires caused by improper use of electricity, and further enhanced the public's awareness of protecting power facilities and using electricity reasonably.

Next, the company will continue to keep a close eye on the cold wave weather conditions, conduct inspections on power supply lines in key places, set up on-duty teams for emergency repair during cold waves, optimize the emergency response mechanism, and establish an information sharing mechanism with the meteorological department to keep abreast of the developments of cold wave weather in a timely manner.
