Charging innovations boosted by State Grid Zhejiang Power Supply Company

The integrated solar energy storage and charging station in Longquan, Lishui, Zhejiang province was put into operation recently, providing efficient charging services for owners of new energy vehicles.

As the first station to integrate solar energy storage and charging functions in Lishui, it covers an area of 1,900 square meters and consists of photovoltaic power generation components, energy storage batteries, charging equipment and an integrated control system. The station has a total of 27 charging parking spaces, including two 240-kilowatt liquid-cooled supercharging spaces, two 60-kW V2G spaces, 19 80-kW fast charging spaces and four 60-kW fast charging spaces.

The station utilizes carports and rooftops to install 117.13-kW distributed photovoltaics and configure 115 kW/229 kilowatt-hours of standardized cabinet energy storage, allowing for flexible energy scheduling based on charging demands and grid conditions.

During peak electricity consumption periods, the station uses solar power and energy storage discharge to supply power to the charging piles, while during low electricity consumption periods, it connects to the "source grid" to charge energy storage batteries and electric vehicles.

The integrated solar energy storage and charging model can stabilize the output fluctuations of solar power generation, which can dynamically meet electricity demands and effectively implement peak shaving and valley filling functions.

"The maximum output power of the liquid-cooled supercharging piles equipped at this charging station is nearly nine times faster than regular charging piles, with a maximum output reaching one kilometer per second, enabling a range of 300 km after just five minutes of charging. Compared to the air-cooled cooling of regular charging piles, liquid cooling offers higher heat dissipation efficiency, making charging more stable and safer," said a State Grid Zhejiang Power Supply Company staff member. Additionally, he mentioned that the operation of such charging stations is an important move for the company to enhance its core competitiveness in the charging service sector, contributing more Zhejiang examples to the construction of a high-quality charging infrastructure network.

The diversified charging services of such a station can better alleviate charging anxiety, providing new energy vehicle owners with a more convenient, safe, considerate and comfortable charging experience. It is also empowering green travel for people returning home during Spring Festival and enhances their satisfaction.
