To ensure the smooth progress of the lightning arrester installation work, the company formulated a detailed operation plan in advance and organized experienced transmission professionals to carry out the lightning arrester installation work. The operators took two hours to reach the foot of Aqia'er Mountain. Due to the rugged and steep terrain in the mountainous area, the operation was rather difficult. However, the transmission staff members overcame numerous difficulties, and after a strenuous climb of 40 minutes, reached the bottom of the iron tower. On the premise of ensuring safety, they took safety measures and climbed onto the iron tower, successfully completing the installation of 18 sets of lightning arresters on the 110-kilovolt Huangguqian Transmission Line.

"The lightning arresters installed this time have excellent lightning protection performance. During thunderstorm weather, the lightning arresters can quickly lead the lightning current underground, thus protecting the transmission lines from lightning strikes. They not only enhance the lines' ability to resist lightning strikes but also reduce the potential hidden dangers of the lines caused by thunderstorm weather, providing a more reliable guarantee for the power supply operation and maintenance of the Jinghe-Yining-Horgos Railway," said Liang Wei, the person in charge of the maintenance work at the Transmission Operation and Maintenance Center of the company.

Next, the company will regularly organize staff members to conduct inspections and maintenance on the electrified railway lines, discover and deal with potential safety hazards promptly, and complete the installation work of the Beidou icing monitoring device at Tower No 114 on this line. It will continue to strengthen communication and coordination with the railway department to jointly provide higher-quality services and guarantees for the power supply operation and maintenance of the Jinghe-Yining-Horgos Railway.
