Staff members from the State Grid Anyang Power Supply Company conducted a comprehensive inspection of the 35 kilovolt lines in the county area of Anyang city, Henan province, on Nov 21.

"Next week is expected to see a drop in temperature, so we need to take advantage of the clear weather to inspect the lines that are prone to icing. Any defects found that can be addressed on-site should be promptly fixed and detailed records should be kept," a staff member said.

During this special inspection, the company organized drones, infrared thermometers, binoculars and other equipment to help with patrols and checks on the high and low voltage lines and equipment within their jurisdiction. The inspection focused on the bases and bodies of poles, transformer terminals, line joints, insulators, equipment clamps and outgoing switches.

All identified defects and hazards were recorded, ensuring that defects were rectified within a specified timeframe. Additionally, they conducted detailed inspections of buildings, construction sites and fish ponds near the power lines, issuing rectification notices promptly for issues such as conflicts between buildings and power lines and illegal constructions, thereby reinforcing the safety of transmission lines.

In the future, in line with work arrangements during the peak winter season, the company will carry out orderly inspections and defect rectification of lines and equipment to ensure the safe and stable operation of equipment at all stations.
