As the cold wave and rainy weather persists in the Linxia Hui autonomous prefecture, Gansu province, local growers are embracing all kinds of facilities to provide the required temperatures for seedlings.

"We have introduced automatic constant-temperature electric heating fans, capable of automatically measuring and adjusting the temperature inside the seedling shed, ensuring optimal conditions for healthy seedling growth," said an employee at Gansu Kanghui Modern Agriculture and Animal Husbandry Industry Co Ltd.

As a provincial-level key company that integrates vegetable planting, processing, cold storage and sales, Kanghui holds a planting area of over 3800 mu and 246 greenhouses for vegetables, as well as 10 daylight greenhouses.

With the temperature rising and spring farming activities commencing in Linxia, the demand for electricity in agricultural production is also on the rise, the company said.

"To maintain the temperature in the seedling greenhouse, we observe the color of the seedling leaves regularly, ensuring proper nutrition and water supply for the seedlings; we also are monitoring temperature changes. Currently, our seedling base has achieved full automation supervision from seeding to nurturing, thanks to stable electrical support," said Zhou Guoqing, person in charge of Kanghui.

To ensure reliable electricity supply for the leading agricultural enterprise during the spring planting season, State Grid Linxia Power Supply Co has assisted its user in comprehensively inspecting electrical facilities and power supply lines for safety hazards, guaranteeing a secure and reliable power supply during vegetable seedling cultivation, said the power supplier.

At Kanghui's husbandry park, electrical staff carried out a power use inspection last week, focusing on key equipment such as greenhouse curtain lifting systems, integrated water and fertilizer machines, exhaust fans, air conditioning units, temperature control devices and seedling sowing machines.

The inspection ensures the safe and stable operation of various electrical equipment, providing worry-free electricity for planting enterprises during spring planting and aiding in local economic and social high-quality development, Zhou said.

Moving forward, the power company will continue to conduct in-depth customer visits, strengthen the operation and maintenance of distribution network equipment, eliminate safety hazards and safeguard agricultural production as well as local economic development, said State Grid Linxia Power Supply Co.
