At the LEAP tech show from March 4-7, China-based companies are joining hands with business partners in Gulf countries.

Among them, BTR.tech, a frontrunner in robotics system integration within the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) region, and Quicktron, a Shanghai-based global leader in robotic logistics solutions, have teamed up to provide advanced robotics services and solutions to the logistics industry in the Middle East.

The two companies announced the strategic partnership on March 6 during the LEAP 2024 tech event in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, saying the collaboration marks an important step forward in delivering cutting-edge solutions to enhance efficiency and revolutionize the logistics sector across the GCC region.

LEAP 2024 has seen multiple partnership deals struck between Chinese companies and institutions with entities in the Middle East. For instance, COFE, an online coffee marketplace platform in the Middle East, unveiled a strategic partnership with Alibaba Cloud, aiming to leverage Alibaba Cloud's robust infrastructure and cutting-edge technologies to enhance the scalability, reliability and performance of COFE’s cloud platform.

By joining forces with Alibaba Cloud, COFE App and COFE Cloud are committed to empowering businesses in the food and beverage sector with state-of-the-art cloud solutions, enabling them to streamline operations, drive efficiency, and accelerate digital transformation, a statement said.

In other initiatives, Saudi Arabia's Ministry of Media announced collaboration with eWTP Arabia Capital (eWTPA), an investment platform with roots in Saudi Arabia and China, to promote investments and develop the Saudi Arabian media ecosystem. The partnership will include the establishment of a joint Asia committee to nurture Saudi media talent.

As the logistics industry is poised for significant growth, BTR.tech and Quicktron are joining forces to introduce advanced robotic solutions that cater to the evolving needs of the market, they said. By leveraging Quicktron's expertise in automation, BTR.tech aims to transform logistics operations for businesses throughout the GCC region.

"We are honored to partner with Quicktron to improve logistics across the GCC region," said Saleh AlTunaib, CEO of BTR.tech. "By integrating Quicktron's advanced robotics into our solutions, we aim to empower businesses with increased efficiency and flexibility, paving the way for growth and success within the logistics sector."

BTR.tech leaders said they acknowledge the crucial role played by eWTP Arabia Capital (eWTPA), in the firms ongoing journey to transform the GCC's logistics landscape.

As the relationship between China and Saudi Arabia continues to deepen, the mode of cooperation will upgrade from simple transactions to collaboration in advantageous capabilities, said Jerry Li, Founder and Managing Partner of eWTPA.

"The development of the Saudi robotics and automation industry requires companies with localization experience and service capabilities and companies with product and advanced manufacturing capabilities, such as Quicktron," he said.

"Based on in-depth knowledge of the Middle East market and China's industrial capabilities, I hope the two companies can promote deep cooperation in the Chinese and Saudi Arabian industries through complementary advantages."
