The Yinxu Ruins was the capital of the Shang Dynasty (c.16th century-11th century BC), and a highly developed bronze civilization was unveiled there thanks to the persistent efforts of generations of archaeologists over the past century. Over the last decade, my colleagues and I have made various significant discoveries: roads that accommodated several chariots running side by side; a large area where a royal scenic garden and pond were situated; and a method used to make the gigantic Simuwu (Houmuwu) ding bronze cauldron (a sacrificial vessel). All these discoveries and studies have led research at the Yinxu Ruins to new heights. We welcome everyone to the newly opened Yinxu Museum for a rendezvous with the millennia-old Shang civilization.
