Every year from November to April, tens of thousands of black-headed gulls migrate long distances to Kunming for the winter. Scenic spots such as Green Park, Haigeng Dam, Daguan Pavilion, along the Panlong River, and the shores of Dianchi Lake are ideal places for observing and feeding wintering birds.
Kunming is home to 25 ethnic minorities and hosts numerous ethnic festivals, where each ethnic group showcases its singing and dancing talents.
