China has consistently emphasized the importance of sharing development opportunities, both within China and across the Asia-Pacific region. However, the US seems to have misunderstood this message, instead seeking to stifle China's development opportunities.

From the balloon farce at the beginning of the year, the crafted cold-shoulder treatment of the defense minister two weeks ago, to the intensive release of news of a visit to China last week, the US has imposed pressure and sanctions while pretending to be a victim of grievances.

Obviously, the US has brought crises to the Asia-Pacific region in order to blackmail China, while China has always talked about development in the Asia-Pacific region.

China believes that development opportunities should be shared, not bestowed or controlled.
