Reporters from home and abroad visited the Beijing rail transit command center on Monday, where they discovered the development and change of Beijing's rail transit and the secret behind the highly efficient operation system.

Over the past 10 years, lines put into operation in the Beijing rail transit system have increased from 16 to 27 with the total mileage growing from 442 to 783 km, consisting of the subway, metro and tramcar.

With the continuous expansion and optimization of the network structure, the accessibility and convenience of the lines have been greatly improved, and the role of rail transit in urban travel has become more prominent.
