The second Intelligent Manufacturing Innovation Contest kicked off on Sept 15.

The contest was jointly sponsored by China Intelligent Manufacturing System Integrator Consortium, China Electronics Standardization Institute, and China Industry and Information Technology Publishing and Media Group.

The contest runs for three years and is open to manufacturing enterprises, institutes of higher learning and scientific research institutes.

The contest aims to give full play to the role of technological innovation as the source of power for the high-level development of intelligent manufacturing, says Zhao Xinhua, head of the China Electronics Standardization Institute.

Contestants can compete in three categories of innovations.

The intelligent manufacturing equipment innovation track focuses on the whole manufacturing process and integration with new technology, such as AI, big data, VR and AR.

The intelligent manufacturing software system and platform innovation track covers all links in the whole product life cycle and manufacturing process.

The system integration solution innovation track focuses on intelligent manufacturing application scenarios for specific industries.
