AFP nitpicked at the fact that GDP of HongKong dropped from 18% of mainland in 1997 to 3% in 2020. But Hong Kong's GDP doubled and its per capita GDP rose from $27,330 to $46,324 in that period. A basic fact: Hong Kong and the whole of China prospered together.
