Digital China reports revenue jump

Digital China Group Co Ltd, a leading provider of cloud services and digital transformation solutions in China, reported its total operating revenue amounted to 122.4 billion yuan ($19.3 billion) in 2021, up 33 percent from the previous year.

Its cloud computing and digital transformation business witnessed rapid growth, with revenue rising 46 percent year-on-year to 3.88 billion yuan.

Expenditures on research and development came in at 240 million yuan in 2021, an increase of 32 percent on a yearly basis.

Moreover, revenue from self-owned brand businesses surged 127 percent to 1.65 billion yuan last year, among which information technology business raked in 1.15 billion in revenue, surging 236 percent year-on-year.

The company has continued to provide digital solutions for clients in the fields of retail, fast-moving consumer goods, automobile, culture, travel and finance. It has stepped up efforts to build an array of products covering data calculation, storage, transmission and security to provide support for enhancing computing capacities.

Guo Wei, chairman and president of Digital China, said more efforts should be made to realize the integration of technical architecture systems based on the cloud platform and provide customized data centers.

Founded in 2000, Digital China is devoted to energizing the digital transformation for the industry with independent innovation of core technologies.

It provides products, solutions and services for the entire life cycle of digital transformation, and continuously enables industrial upgrading and development of the digital economy.

Worldwide information technology or IT spending is projected to total $4.5 trillion in 2022, an increase of 5.5 percent from 2021 according to global consultancy Gartner Inc.  Enterprise software is expected to have the highest growth in 2022 at 11.5 percent, as infrastructure software spending continues to outpace application software spending.
